i read this on other forums,

well you can fool the computer temporarily, and while in open loop (warming up) the first time. but once its in closed loop the computer looks at the oxygen in the exhaust, from there it determines the fuel ratio, if it is not what the computer wants it will increase or decrease the fuel trim to obtain that ratio. so once you tweak the signal from the maf the ecu will think there is less air, cut some gas, but then, probably within 5 seconds, it will see the mixture is now lean, and will start increasing the fuel trim to return to its desired ratio.

by the way the ratio the computer is aiming for is the most efficient for the engine to run, yeah it might be a hint on the rich side, but that is because lean = high combustion temperatures, and that just equals problems, including melted pistons in extreme cases.

is this true?

The ECM/PCM will always try to keep a 14.7/1 ratio. It also has the ability to learn. Like on a chrysler product(OBDII) if you unhook the battery it looses it learned perameters and runs like junk till it relearns it base settings. An o2sensor(EFIE)adjuster is the prefered option then MAP/MAP adjuster. The big three are like this and some(not all)imports.

so you are saying to efie the O2 sensor instead of the MAP or do both?

The o2 sensor enhancer(EFIE) first.

The o2 sensor enhancer(EFIE) first.

O2 efie is definatly the first chioce,O2s have the last say so the ecm calculates. You can temporarily fool the ecm with map sensor enhancer but it won't tolerate leaning for long before it goes to open loop and throws a cel.I've all but given up on the map enhancer, tired of constantly clearing cels.
Bottom line is efie's work way better than map enhancers.
