I came across an eBay listing for a dual tube unit similar to the Hydro Super 2. It has 316L Stainless tubes, and 316L stainless plates, and everything else, nuts and bolts are your regular grade stainless...

It comes in a complete package, priced @ $285 Shipped to your door. Seemed like a good looking kit, so I decided to give it a try. It showed up tonight while I was at work, and I plan to switch my generator out on my truck now, with this one. My first impression is that it is a nice kit. The generators look good, however I was dissappointed to find that taking them apart is going to be a chore as they are sealed shut using some kind of clear sealant. No biggie, I'll run them for a month or so, and pull them apart later to see the wear and tear....

Anyway, here's a couple of pics for you guys:

good luck with the new kit. I know one thing, I won't be buying from anyone on ebay or out there on the web anymore. The first cell I bought off ebay, due to I did not have the SS to make one. It came as +-+-+-+- cell. We tried to run it last night and it was ok, but not worth the 47 dollars I paid. I paid less for the plates from a member on this site which were 316L vs 304. The 304 plates I got from ebay that was a made up cell are like 3mm thick. Needing way too much current to get it to generate in the mode he put it as.

The kit my friend bought from a guy in FL was DISCS that overlapped in a SS container, which was holding a glass container. this unit produced only a measily .4LPM and he paid $300 for it. Way too much. After 2 weeks of operation, the discs are rusting, why? Because the guy that built is put in normal steel, not stainless. It was sealed real good too so you can't open it. So, I say good luck. Bad thing about yours is you can't see inside to see if the metal inside is rusting. But, I can tell you one thing. If your production drops way off, then you are getting rust. That is the way he knew he had a problem. Good luck with your new toy.

Good point SmartHHO. Unless you build it yourself, you really don't know what material was used for the build. Think about it, a scammer could sell tons of cells made out of plain steel to unsuspecting customers, then just remove their profile and run with the money. By the time you find out they are long gone and you are out some bucks.

I wish you the best bwhite757, perhaps you got a good one.

Yea..... that's why you buy trusted sellers with many feedbacks that have been on ebay for awhile :D

Live & Learn

I bought a Powertube from Ebay. It's very similiar to what you bought Bwhite, but half the price. Works great!!
