I use mine to determine the voltage across the cells to make sure I have enough but not to much volts per cell.

Are you both making sure its a constant 15amps?

no mine varies upon temp starts at about 8 then goes up to about 10 or so.

to check the volts connect - to the - plate and + to the pos plate it should be 12+ volts. To check cells, just connect to the cell to check the cell volts sorta like, -n or nn or n+ or -nn, nnn, nn+, nnnn, nnnnn, etc. Each cell should be around 2 volts so 2 cells 4+ volts about and so on. Most cars will be more than 12 volts, mine puts out 14.5 volts so each cell is 2.4 approx.
