Hi guys

only my second post and ive come up with a design.

a brief description.

2 x M8 stainless screwed rod to hold negative and posative plates .
1 x M6 Stainless screwed rod to hold neutrel plates.
Acrylic boss to hold all the assembly together there will also be another one at the other end.
all nuts, washers and bosses to be make of stainless steel.

Pink plates are neutrel
Red are posative
Blue are negative

all plates are 316L 1.2mm stainless steel and to fit in a 4" tube

Please let me know your thoughts on it.

Circles are cut from square stock. Wasteful.

Dry cell are more efficient than wet cells.

Compare the use of SS to this design:

Hi and from looking on the internet i would have to agree as most people are building the dry cell instead of a wet cell. My idea behind this first design is just so i can calculate the surface area of stainless steel plate in contact with the electrolite. I think it will turn out that a dry cell will have much more surface area rather than a wet cell like my design. And to be honest in my first design I think it will be more expencive to manufacture.

I think I am going to use M6 threaded stainless bar for this unit.

Thank you. I use software called SolidWorks.

Our drawings were done with solidworks by a friend of mine, my question how did you convert them to a useable jpeg or what ever that you put on photo bucket

Instead of cutting the corners on the plates and the gaskets, I suggest that you use simple squares.

No holes in the gaskets.

Less waste, easier to make, easier to assemble.

Also, one hole at the top of every plate, except for one end plate, that has its single hole lower.


On the center plate contact, use a taller plate.

Make the ends Negative so they can be directly mounted to the car frame.

Think i might incorperate your ideas into a diamond shaped cell.

? you missing a hole for hho in there i only saw 1 port hole in the plates .

Ah right.

Are you talking about the end plates (negatives) or the 1.5mm stainless neutrel and posative plates?
