My first attempt at getting my hydrogen feet wet involved a styrofoam cup, two paper clips and a 9v battery!

The first thing you should do with this setup to progress forward is to bring the two plates MUCH closer together, try and get them about 1/16" apart without any shorting. You should notice a big increase in production.

To move on, I would recommend you pop on over to my website and read my HHO beginners docs, these will give you a good primer on how HHO production works (and doesn't work). My website link is in my signature.

Keep working at it! :)

To test the amps, you need to have the multimeter in series with your positive lead. In other words... PSU+ to MM- and MM+ to Cell+.

Hi guys

Ive taken a picture of my multi meter as i am still unclear as to:-

1, which holes i put my leads in to test for Amps?
2, what do i turn the dial onto to test for Amps?

Turn your multimeter to the red 10A setting.

Plug the black lead into COM and connect that to the positive of your power source.

Plug the red lead into the 10ADC socket and connect that to the positive of your cell.

Great nice one Russ

0.62 Amps

Not too bad for a start.

Hi guys

Update:-

I made some alterations this morning to my cell. The idea was to have more - plates than = plates and as you can see from the video (link below) that no point is proven wrong. Here is a list of changes I have made.

1, changed the electrolyte to distilled water and bicarbonate of soda, 1/2 liter and 2 tea spoons full of Bicarbonate of soda.
2, Added a switch into the wiring just to make this easier for me.
3, Plates - I found some old notches I made when I was an apprentice made from stainless steel so I thought I would use these. They are 2.5" x 1.5" 20SWG 304 BA. 1 x M6 screw through the top with a few washers as spacers.

--------+

I’ve noticed that when I put in more bicarbonate of soda the amps don’t go up anymore than 0.72A. So i had a look at the power supply I am using. Please see picture attached as I think I am limited to the amps the power pack will put out.

I have an old computer which i am going to take the power supply out of today and I think I might be best using that.

Some visibly good production there, Gareth. Now, make yourself a sealed container and measure how much you're producing for a given volts/amps. You've now started down the no-return road of efficiency!

Hi guys

Ive been looking through our junk and came across this pot of gold.

http://www.cnmonline.co.uk/product.php?productid=33015&cnid=33015&utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=froogle

this thing already has a pump built in. I just need to ramp it down as it will be too powerfull.
