So I've just acquired one more piece of the setup for my HHO kit on '04 Subaru WRX. I didn't want to just through on a Hydrogen kit, with out having a few gauges to monitor the engine, specifically A/F Ratio and EGT, and well as knock detection, MPG. I decided on a Carputer setup with a laptop in the glove box, hooked up to the ECU via the Tactrix (ODBii to USB) cable. This will allow me to have realtime ODBii readouts displayed on 'virtual gauges' giving me all the info I need, without have gauge clusters all over my car.
This setup will also allow for read/writing of the ECU's map to tune the car with software call RomRaider and ECUFlash (OpenECU). Does anyone know much about Open Source tuning and can anyone help me make a custom engine map for HHO, using my current off the shelf map as a baseline? What values should I change, obviously timing and target A/F ratio, what else should I change, OL/CL fueling? Any help much appreciated.
