View Full Version : Many questions about HHO and my '94 Saturn

For the last several days I have been reading all over the internet about HHO and the various claims people make both for and against it. In a litte more than a month, I am driving from Massachusetts, to California, and I will be using quite a bit of gas, so anything that can improve my MPG's would be welcome!

Here's some questions I have gathered based on my reading.

How big of a generator do I need to see some effictive results? My engine is pretty small (1.9L 4 cyl), unfortunately, my engine compartment is also pretty tiny.

My car has 1 unheated oxygen sensor, located right in the exhaust manifold. Do I need to get a gadget to modify the O2 sensor readings?
Can I make my own? I am pretty handy with electronics, and my buddy is a whiz - how hard is it?
Also, my O2 sensor needs routine replacement, do I still need to get a new one if I hook up an HHO generator ?

Also, apart from the MPG benifits it produces, what kind of drain does the HHO generator put on the Motor? Or the alternator, or battery?

Lastly, can I get detailed instructions from this website on how to build a generator? Most of the plans I have found cost money, although the cheapest I've seen was only $10.

Thanks for any help you are able to provide!

hey! i have a 94 saturn as well, a sw2 [twin cam wagon]

maybe we can help each other out as things progress, as we may have almost identical cars, so far im just collecting parts and intend to have a basic HHO gen built for it by next weekend, but i dont plan on working on the o2 sensor's or anything else for quite some time.

there are some of the water4gas and similar plans on bit torrent sites if you look around...otherwise id recommend looking at http://www.smacksboosters.110mb.com/ and http://www.mindstrain.com in the meantime to get some ideas of what your setup might look like.
