Hello
I've been reading about the flooded cell, where the bubbler is mounted above the unit and as the gas rises it circulates the electrolyte to help cooling.

I'm wondering if this can be adapted to the smack unit I'm about to start building. Any opinions?

Thanks

That's a great question. I've only seen one example of that and it really looked interesting. I didn't quite understand how the rising gas would circulate the fluid though. I just figured it would bubble out.

The bubbles going up the tube form a kind of conveyor belt that moves the liquid from the generator up the tube. As this liquid is being displaced from the generator, it is replaced by the liquid from the container above.... I think :D

Works like a fish tank. The gas bubbles travel out the top carrying warm fluid with it. At the same time cooler fluid is draining from the bottom refilling the unit at the bottom.

I'm thinking about building a rectangle tank with a second smaller tank attached to the side and even with the top of the unit.
