Deionized(DI) water should work about the same as distilled water. It is highly resistive. With proper chemicals like KOH, it should do just fine.

I already tried it... Awesome cold set the cell at 10amps, 13.5v. Production is up from what I had using unregulated store bought distilled. Also not getting any mineral at all. I am using NaOH in pure liquid form for my electrolyte. About 5 grams actual measured weight to exactly 48oz deionized water.

Here is a small video of the cell running on deionized water and NaOH.

is it ur 48oz = 1419.53ml?

5g NaOH in 1419.53ml = 5/1419.53 x 100% = 0.35%w/v.... :D

some1 pls correct me if i'm wrong.... :o

c02cutter,

That production looks really good for 13.5V@10 Amps.

Good job.
