I bought this awhile ago and made some plates from it. Had the idea that I was going to make more to sell but I ran out of time awhile ago. Should be still about 80' left on the roll. I have the...
Never heard of them before. The idea of platinum and palladium is for catalytic convertors: Here's a description of how it works:
The oxidation catalyst is the second stage of the catalytic...
Does the wire to your cell heat up? If it gets hot its adding resistance to your circuit and could cause voltage drop at the cell. If your voltage is dropping throughout the car then you may have...
I was wondering what you all were using for sizes on electrolyte reservoirs? I was using 2" x 12" ABS tubing. I found I could use less KOH that way. But thinking later I'm thinking that my high...
yeah I kind of thought that thinner metal shouldn't make much of a difference. I haven't ever hard any warp on the metal parts just on the 1/2" plexiglass end plates. I did have pitting though when...
Just wondering if anyone has used such thin stainless for their cells ( or even used thinner). I'm not sure why thinner metals would make much of a difference in production but would save money. ...
What size coil weight and thickness are you usually buying? Is the metal hard to get to flatten out of the coil or does it flatten easy?
Also make sure your connections are tight. Loose connections cause heat as well.
So is your cell consuming the same amount of amperage whether it works or it doesn't? I had an issue with heat that would cause slight warping after a longer run and it would start shorting plates...
Qhack! I wonder if the reason you are getting such a mileage difference is the difference in the pump itself. I would imagine that every pump has a different place where it clicks off to say it's...
Make sure that the cell is getting a good amount of airflow. I've seen many setups near the radiator to get maximum air flow. One of the main disadvantages of wet cell is the heat produced. You...
So there is a kit on ebay that says they have 316L SS plates. The plates are fairly small (3.5 x3.5) but still that seems really cheap. Do you guys think that this kit is for real? It just seems...
Here's one for $65 includes shipping...
Biggy Boy how much are you seeing the EGTs selling for? You should check them out on ebay, they look legit and they are less than $100. Unless that's too much for you
If you are scared about leaning out too much one way to monitor is using a EGT ( exhaust gas temp sensor). Getting a baseline of average exhaust temperatures w/o modification will give you numbers...
Before you do any leaning I would definately install an exhaust gas temp sensor that way you won't be as likely to damage the motor.
yeah I looked it up and it basically computes out to L x rpm. Even if you divide it by 5 ( since you're feeding close to 100 % O2 instead of 20% in regular air) you're still way short.
I was thinking about it, about how many lpm do car's use for air volume. If you could figure out how much your car uses at WOT you could regulate the amount of hho to regular incoming air and make...
Cool design Qhack. This would be a really good test to see. If you can't get significantly better mileage from this then we are barking up the wrong tree!
Do you think the 2 bubblers are removing most of the contaminants? Obviously one is not doing the trick.
I really want to believe in the dry cell, but so far I haven't seen anyone get much...
So are you saying that possibly the increase in mileage on the w4g designs and wet cell designs might be due to water vapor? If so that might make a some sense.
How are you keeping KOH and NaOH out...
Word of warning! For some reason my cell was creating throttle issues. I don't know why exactly but after leaving the cell off for a week the car seemed to return back to normal, but when I...
Thanks for the input. Qhack I am ordering a EGT as I'm afraid to modify the AFR much without it since I don't have a car I can sacrifice right now. I'm not giving up quite yet on dry cells, but...
How are you guys checking cell temps?
Also how are you using stainless end plates without causing dead short? I like the idea but not sure how to put it into effect.
I've been using 1/2...
So I've been using my dry cell on my 96 subaru with no positive results. I get consistantly the same mileage with and without my cell. What's worse is after 400 miles it starts to gum up my...
