I set up a resistive heater and insulated my gen.. If interested, see the schematic posted on the "Temperatuer feedback pwm" thread.

It monitors the gen temp, and turns on the heater if the gen...

    Resonant frequency

I did hours of testing, and there is no resonant frequency below 500 Khz.

I did read that water is resonant near the ghz freq's that microwave ovens operate, but that would make the water boil.

    What PWM freq ?

I did a lot of testing of PWM freq's, duty cycle. The freq (100hz-100khz) makes no difference as far as I could tell.

I personally like to run low frequencys (100hz) because the electronics are...

    canpower,

I would pick the HRF3205. The .008 on resistance would allow you to draw 27 amps at a 6 watt dissipation in the device. This would allow you to run fanless with a decent heatsink.

    temp feedback PWM

    Philldpapill,

The circuit I posted is electrically a "P", not a "PID". Essentially, a comparator that runs full blast until the temp signal from the LM324 reaches the pot voltage "setpoint", then...

I imagine that you mean the shunt on the meter. That is the chunk of metal or resistor that develops the voltage for the meter to read.

If the manufacturer designed it marginally, it probably...

    I run HHO

    jager,

I have an HHO setup in my 2003 2.3 liter Ford Ranger. Been running it for over a year now. My baseline MPG was 22 MPG with no HHO.

Using 316 plates in a +nnnn-nnnn+ arrangement spaced...

It seems that he is loading a gen, and in one test he is throwing the generated gas into the air, and feeding it back to the motor in the second.

A more informative test (IMHO), would be to run...

The output is short circuit protected.

The input max is 40 volts, If your cars electrical system gets anywhere near 40 volts, the LM317 will be the least of your problems.

    current limit

The LM317 is an excellent choice, I've used them many times.

If you get on the National Semiconductor website and get the LM317 data sheet, look at the circuit labeled "precision current limiter"....

    current feedback pwm

    Galkaen,

Sorry haven't been on this thread for a while.

    LOCCO,

Your spacing is pretty good. I use 1.7 mm..
Seems between 1-2 mm is most popular.

    Shunts

    Painless,
A shunt will convert current to voltage through the formula E = I*R.

For example, if you use a .01 ohm shunt, and measure the voltage across it,
at 20 amps the voltage would be E =...

    How much

I agree with Jriggs. HHO is more expensive, energywise than gasoline to use as fuel.
It is a great catalyst, to make the gasoline burn totally.
    I have a 2.3 liter and .3 liters/min HHO increased...

One side of the generator connects directly to + 12 volts, preferably through a relay for safety. The other side of the gen connects to the - gen terminal on the PWM.
