Joining polycarbonate
For the guys using polycarbonate housings.
13 years ago I made a rectangular underwater slave strobe housing out of 3/8 polycarbonate.
I used dichloromethane to join the pieces together. It melts the material. When it flashes off, 1 solid piece.
I went down in the basement and found the housing. It looks as good as the day I put it together. The joints are prefect.
The only thing, the part tolerances have to be damn tight. The stuff wont fill voids, it is the consistancy of lighter fluid. A good mill tolerance is needed.
Just some more info.

Good info. I've been using IPS#16 to join my polycarbonate.
