Conductive Plastic
has anyone tried to use some kind of conductive plastic?
-
plastic is not conductive
-
I think that there are some types of neoprene that will conduct.
-
I discovered the hard way that EPDM washers I got are conductive.
Also, those who mold plastics sometimes add carbon to the base raw material like nylon to make their end product conductive.

Graphite impregnated plastics and urathanes. Googel and thomas.net are good search engines. I prefir Thomas Register

i was really tryin to see if anyone had tried this

I haven't tried it, but it's surely worthy of some research. I would want to investigate the following areas first though for each material:
1) What is it's electrical resistance, compared to a piece of 316L SS the same size.
2) How does it react to the catalyst of choice.
If the result from 1 is favourable and 2 is "it doesn't" then I should think that it would be a good option for experimentation. Not sure how 1 could be answered though without buying a piece?
