A/F ratio gauge? Work or useless?

Would one work. someone told me that they are hooked to the 02 sensor, so I would assume that they essentially give you a visual readout of what the o2 sensor is reading. Am I right in saying this? If so, wouldn't adding one help with the tuning after HHO is installed?

I have one on my car. Yes it does give you a indication of what's going on.
When there in open loop the reading is steady, more so when cold.
When warmed up it goes into closed loop and it pulses high/low or
rich/lean how ever you want to interprate the reading, try putting a
analog volt meter on it, 1-2 volt scale. you will see what i mean.
