Socket Set Organizer for 1/4 and 3/8 drives

I have been using it for years.

Notice the hole on the left.

The socket set can be hung from a nail for storage using that hole.

    A nice and simple idea!

I don't think I've owned a socket set yet that doesn't suffer from it's inability to keep the sockets still when opened.

I use the plastic ones from Matco tools. They have small square pieces that slide down the rail for the socket to snap onto.

I have red ones for SAE and blue for metric.

    I also have a separate rail for 1/4" and 3/8" and 1/2"

although, my socket rails cost considerably more than Stu's HAHA...

    Not a bad setup there.

Many years ago my father-in-law gave me a set of Metrinch tools. http://www.metrinch-tools.com/ At first I was a bit sceptical about them, thinking that no tool could be both metric and SAE and be worth a damn. After 15+ years of use, I swear by them. Granted I haven't used them for anything extremely high torque yet, but I'm no pansy with them either. The sockets seem loose when you use them, but I have never stripped a bolt yet. It goes against everything I ever learned about tools; they just work.
