    Number of cells

I read Bob Boyces stuff about a year ago so this is all off memory...

I am seeing suppliers making their units in 2/4/7/etc cell configurations...

Why is no one doing 3 and 6 cell configs?

According to Bob... again from memory... 6 cells is optimum because it spreads the "12 volts" across each cell equally at just under 2 volts and thus creates less waste thus less heat.

    Thoughts?

if your talking about the # of plates in a cell,

    you need to know that a vehicle runs a 13 - 14 volts = 7 plates / 13.5v = 1.92v each plate.

If you look at many of the early designs by the big names in HHO you will notice that they were testing simple +- configurations of various types. If you put 12 volts across that, you generate heat. However, if you take and put 6 canisters in series with the same +- plate configuration you now have a plate gap voltage of 2 volts. So, yes in these early designs they did notice lower heat. However, it is still a poor design for efficiency. Best to go with the dry cell design.
