    Ionized water & electrolysis

    Ionized water & electrolysis

Maybe some one with chemistry knowledge can help me with this question.

I was ordering some De-ion resin for my RODI water purification unit. It dawned on me that DI resin exchange ions. Could this ion exchange be tailored to be beneficial to spitting water??

One resin they sell says "SpectraPure® Strong Acid Cation Cartridge is designed to remove all heavy metals, such as lead, copper, zinc, iron cadmium, manganese, and exchanges them for hydrogen ions."

De-Ionized water is simply water that has had a substantial amount of ions removed, such as K+, Na+, etc.

    It's basically chemically purified water.

Honestly, that stuff sounds like a product that uses a bunch of fancy mumbo-jumbo to sell crap to an unsuspecting consumer. Sadly, this happens alot nowadays.

I'm still trying to understand this.

Cation or Anion resins can leave water with more or less h2 electrons. Couldn't these negative or positive charge molecules be easier to crack?
