problem with upgrade

i have 6x6 dry cell with +NNNN-NNNN+ i decided to do upgrade over the weekend so i add 2 extra plates so the cell look like this +NNNNN-NNNNN+ but weird thing when i connected to the car cell barely pull 1-2 amp almost no production i took these plates out and my production came back to the 100%. But i want to try one more time i put 2 extra plates back to the cell same thing no production but when i took it back i came to the normal 100% production with 18 amps. Any ideas?

It's normal to see your amp draw go down when you add neutral plates. You will need to add more electrolyte to compensate.
