    12mm 02 Extender

I have a '97 Land Rover Range Rover 4.0 and the (4) 02's are 12mm thread rather than the standard 18mm. I just received (2) standard Extenders that everyone is selling and even thought the seller assured me that these were the 'right' ones they weren't. FYI: 12mm also fits Toyota.

Does anyone know a source where I can get 12mm Extenders (2)? Thanks

A well stocked auto parts store would likely have them. You could call non-fouler manufacturer and get their input; if you are lucky, they might even be helpful... maybe....

I've got an empty box that mine came in at work; I'll try to post what info I can dig up tomorrow.

Thanks Omega. I checked out their website but didn't find anything that resembled an 02 extender so I sent them an inquiry email. Thanks for your help.

Just remember that these things are known in the auto parts world as "spark plug non-foulers". If you ask for an O2 extender, they might not know what you are talking about.

I know about the non-foulers and from what I have seen they are different in that they have a smaller opening and would have to be drilled out to fit. Maybe I'm mis-informed but I will check your suggestion anyway. Thanks again.

I had to do some machining on mine to get it to work. It was too shallow for the O2 sensor to seat all the way in. So I drilled it out. Then, the O2 sensor wouldn't screw in all the way, so I had to machine out a bit on the inside.

I had access to a lathe, so this exercise wasn't as difficult as it could have been.

In my experience, these aren't "plug and play" devices.

I found that a local machinist can make me one for quite cheap... Competitive with what is selling on eBay if you include shipping etc.
I bought some on eBay then showed them to a local machinist in Montreal, he told me he could make me one for about $8-10... less if I ask him for more then one.

Grab your yellow pages and ask !!! Beats buying a lathe !!!
