    Water vapour induction?

    Does anyone know or has anyone tried vapour induction prior to Turbo Diesel using a DC Mist Maker?
    Which is better to mix for a Diesel Turbo, ISO or Methanol?

    No vapor in front of turbo, only after. Vapor's not as bad as mist, just takes longer to erode your blades. I'm using 3- .015" mist nozzles @ 70psi with a 75/25 H2O/isopropyl mix @ 6 G.P.H. Works great, bumps my mileage up almost 2 mpg and lowers my egt's on my N/A 7.3 idi.

    Im talking about ultrasonic vapourizers which have to be injected before turbo due to no pressure. I do understand that there will be a very slight degradation to turbine over a long period of time but willing to compromize.

    6 G.P.H. for a 2mpg gain is a lot of mix for a small amount of gain.

    Ultrasonic vapourizers output are variable from 200ml to 1600ml or more per hour which would mean increasing ALC concentration.

    What would you recommend methanol or ISO?

    Has anyone tried a mix of Hydroxy & WVI?

    my friends and i just did this on a 1969 vw bug its only a 1600cc motor
    it made a hug power improvement . it has not been on the car long enough to calc out the mpg improvement.

    as an fyi the power gain will be more than the mpg gain.

    as the water drops flash to steam they expand to 1800 times there original size

    this also lowers engine temp which will then makes it possible to lean out air fuel mix. this is how you gain in mpg.

    but before you do any of this get an EGT gauge so you can monitor temps.

    ultrasonic water humidifer

    I am doing it. I use a ultrasonic humidifier powered by a 12 v to 110 vac 400 Watt converter. I drive a 97 saab non turbo and inject the mist behind the air filter. This car has a MPG meter and it increases the MPG from 30 to 34 mpg.

    I have been doing it only for 1 week or so and worry about rusting various engine parts but so far everything is fine.

    I use only water so far.

    Almost all commercial water injection systems do not inject moisture at idle. If you are then you run a very small risk of rust because of what is left in the intake when you shut off. If it only injects say at 1200 rpm or above idle it prevents this from happening. All the water gets out of the intake when you shut down if you idle for just a few seconds be for shutting off. I doubt you will have any problem though as you have it depending on how much water is really going in the engine at the time you shut off. This would only be a problem if you let the vehicle sit for months without starting it anyway.
