amp meter

i want to hook up a amp meter to my hho to see how many amps i am using. Do i cut my ground wire going from my hho to the car body and put the amp meter between. if so how does the amp meter get its power or does it need any power? thanks

If it came with instructions, follow them. But yes you put it between the unit and the ground. It gets its power from your unit and measures the amps that it's pulling.
