Where can I buy Clear cylindrical housing?

Where can I buy a clear cylindrical tube the same size as a 4" PVC pipe.

Better if the material can withstand the heat.

I'm planning to build a Jaxom type electrolyzer with a clear housing so that I can see the gas production.

You can buy clear pvc on the internet but its very expensive.

Try a place that sells second hand shop fittings. They use clear tube for all sorts of displays and dispensers and they pretty well give second hand stuff away.

$25.57 a foot and a 16 foot minimum.....that's $400+ right off the top. Then you've got to have end caps for the housing and the solvent to assemble it, etc. Polycarbonate is gonna get real expensive real quick.

That is expensive! For a tube design, I would recommend either the standard ABS or the clear clamp type containers available at Wal Mart. Unfortunately, you will have control the heat.

Controlling the heat is normally done either by adding neutral plates and/or using less chemical in the electrolyte.

Good quality, already water-tight, although it may not be large enough diameter for that type of cell.
