    Overly efficient reactor ?

    Hi guys,

I recently built my first reactor, and something is strange...

My setup is -NNNNN+ with plates being 8"x6".

At the moment, I'm conditioning the plates using my car battery and a battery charger set at 6 Amps.

I'm using using KOH in a concentration of 1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water.

Now the problem is that my multimeter doesn't read properly the current. It reads 0.5 Amps which I'm quite sure is erroneous.

However, the reactor is producing about 2 LPM.

Given the low concentration, ( roughly 2% by my calculations ) I have no idea why it is producing so much gas.

    Any ideas ?

Get an analog inline ammeter and try again. Great results would be 25A @ ~13.8V.
