adidas Originals Superstar getting a little bit more creative
The adidas original superstar has seen red-on-red looks before, so why is this particular release such a stand-out? Perhaps it has to do with the premium nature of the micro-perforated leather base or just how vibrantly the Scarlet Red shade pops on the iconic silhouette. One thing’s for sure, all-red sneakers have maintained a certain enviable status in the sneaker world and continue to peak interests based on how head-turning the aesthetic is. This premium leather offering manages to captivate through the use of those tiny dots in the material while also allowing for the adidas Superstar‘s native shape to bring a wave of nostlagia.
The adidas Originals Superstar is a timeless classic that will never go out of style, but that doesn’t mean it can’t undergo some changes to give it a more modernized look. This latest rendition of the iconic sneaker is dubbed the adidas Originals Superstar Animal, and it’s fairly easy to see why. From afar, the Superstar appears to be normal as can be, it’s only when you take a closer look at the shoe that you realize that the white upper is given a faux snake-skin texture that gives it a subtle yet creative and modernized look. The white leather upper is then contrasted by the hits of black placed on the Three Stripes branding on the side panels, the tongue tag and the heel tab of the shoe. A white shell toe and sole unit wrap up the tonal look of the shoe.
We just saw a black leather Shelltoe lowtop from adidas Originals with red and white trim and a neoprene inner sock release not too long ago on the Keith Haring x Run-DMC ‘Christmas in Hollis’ 80s. Here, we have a similar arrangement on the adidas original superstar 2 femme, which uses red in a far more prominent fashion, which is fitting for a design that also adds a bit of wildness by way of leopard print on that added bootie.
The adidas original superstar 2.0 is a shoe that no doubt makes the most sense in the straight black and white. But those have been around for forever, so we’re going to go ahead and assume you’ve got a pair of those, or perhaps the first Superstar shoe, in your rotation somewhere with that no-nonsense combination. Getting a little bit more creative is the new “Camo Dot” pack, which features three different pairs that all wear a camouflage canvas along with a polka dot overlay.
